There were some permanent residents in the pool at building 6 who made some guests feel uncomfortable by saying things like “this pool should be for permanent residents only.” However, one resident who was aware that I overheard a disparaging comment, to his credit, handed me one of his beers as an attempt to make me feel welcomed.

Lovely stay
Imot 626 is a great unit for 1 or two people. Kitchen is fully remodeled. Furniture is comfy. The balcony is lovely for being outsite, but the view is unremarkable (parking lot/neighborhood.) Closest access to the fitness center and pool. Staff were lovely. I had extended family staying in ocean-front units at El Matador and having this as a quiet retreat was ideal.

Our stay at El Matador
We were absolutely happy with our experience. The check in was quick and accurate. ALL the staff at El Matador was great, pleasant and helpful. Our room (626) was wonderful. We enjoyed everything about our stay there. The only complaint whatsoever was that we received the email from El Matador the day before check out that outlined our check out procedure including the time, which was 10:00 am. On the morning of our check out the cleaning crew knocked on our door telling us we were late leaving and they needed to clean the room however it was only 830 in the morning. That had us stressing and a wonderful 4 days ended under a lot of stress from them. ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with El Matador or their staff. I got the impression that the cleaning people were not part of El Matador staff. Other than that it was fabulous and we would definitely come back again and recommend it to others. Thank you for your hospitality
