To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

A Wonderful Week's Holiday
We loved our stay! Thank you! The pools were clean and safe. The gardens were neat and tidy. The beach was sooooooo beautiful. We thought the beach chair rentals were pricy but it appears to be the norm for the area! Thank you! We would love to return!

The shower in master was being re-done, that is the only thing wrong with the unit. Im sure they will have it re-done by the next time it will be beautiful! The unit was nice ,clean and decorated great!

Great spot!
The Matador condos are very well maintained and in a terrific location. The beach was busy but not overcrowded, as the location is next to the Air Force Base. Bonus is getting to watch the cool airplanes fly over. Condo was nice, facilities are great, and beach was beautiful!

Perfect vacation destination
I absolutely love this beach. It isn't overly crowded like many are and the El Matador comes with two wonderful pool areas too. Unit 547 is adorably decorated, super cozy, comes with so many amenities it feels like home, and has a beautiful bay view. I will definitely be coming back!

Great place in a great location
We enjoyed every part of our vacation to Ft Walton. Everyone was very nice El Matador. I only wished we could have stayed longer. 2 days isn't enough time to enjoy all of Ft Walton has to offer. We do plan to visit again soon.

Best Vacation Ever!!!
We stayed in room 547 at El Matador. The property was so nice and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay so much. The pools were nice and clean. The heated pool was so warm on the chilly nights. We talked with most of the guards at the guard gate and they were so friendly. Our room was awesome and I would highly recommend this room for any couples of 2. It took us forever to find a room that had 2 beds and not bunk beds. It was worth the search. Thank you all so much. We are planning our second trip to the same place in a few months.

Great Vacation
Had a great stay! We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. Only a couple minor issues with the unit-glass closet door in bathroom had a bad crack in it & the sliding screen doors were off their tracks, but not a huge deal. Really enjoyed the views from both the front & back of the unit. Also, the location at the end of the beach was a huge bonus. Not crowded at all during spring break! Would definitely stay here again & recommend to friends!!

UNIT 547 WAS AMAZING
I have to say this is one of the nicest places I have stayed. I only wish that the pool had stayed open a little later than 11. The grounds were very well kept and the condo was clean with a spectacular view of the Bay loved how it was decorated and had everything you needed and more. It was very quiet. We will be back.

El Matador is the Best Find in Florida
I have been vacationing in Ft.Walton/Destin since I was a child. I continue to visit now with my kids. Found the El Matador about 20 years ago and return every year. I have never found a better value. Very clean. Well maintained. Nice guests. All good. The best kept secret is that the resort is next to a private military beach giving the feel that you are on your own island of sorts.
Always find the pricing a much better deal than any other place and I do check. Give the El Matador a visit. You will return.

This was our first visit to your complex but it will not be our last. Our condo was beautifully decorated and our stay was wonderful! The complex was gorgeous and the beach was just breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we are already planning our next stay here!

Love the location
We have been staying there every year for the last five years for vacation. We love the location of the condos. The less traffic getting in and out of the area is much better. The people are always very friendly. It's a very peaceful week. We will continue to come every year.
