To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Great room
This is the second year we have stayed in this unit. We were so happy that it was available again this year. Everything was great. The door to the balcony was hard to slide open and the curtains in the bedroom let in a little to much light at night. We hope that if we get to return next year that this unit will be available for us again. Loved staying here.

GREAT WINTER GETAWAY
The condo was well equipped. The view from the balcony was awesome. The WiFi worked well. There were very nice towels...soft and white. Glad to see that the building is being well maintained but it was a little noisy during our stay. Bottom line we would stay here again.

Unit 464 was comfortable, clean, and well decorated. The view from the elevator area and private balcony was excellent. Some of the light bulbs were burnt out in closet and above the bar. We replaced two of them over the bar. We will definitely return and hope for better weather next trip.

Amazing time had by all
My wife and I enjoyed the unit we stayed in along with our two sons. Very family friendly environment. Plenty of towels and tee pee available in the room . The beach was amazing and the view from the room as well ! We will definitely be staying again our next time down.

El Matador is our happy place. The staff is always smiling and friendly. The whole place is kept immaculate. The condo unit was very nice and included everything that we needed. We have already planned our next visit, as we come down twice a year. We will not stay anywhere except El Matador. Thank you to everyone that contributes to the wonderfulness that we experience every time❤

We often stay at this resort. Although this is the first time in unit #464. It is a lovely unit with a great view and comfortable beds. However, the room could use a little TLC to repair the entrance door frame, glass on shower/tub to cure leak, and damage to bathroom door. It is still a little place in paradise.

We loved our stay at El Matador! The room and overall facilities were very clean and the pool and beach were not overcrowded. Unfortunately the room smelled a bit musty and our refrigerator had to be replaced on the 2nd day. Although we had a couple issues we will definitely come back.

Wonderful ocean view!
We love the El Matador & have been here many times. Enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean & the cooling ocean breezes from our balcony. Pools are great. The condo we usually stay in wasn't available so we tried this one. The condo was very clean. This unit is in need of some serious updating. The sofa was worn out, the ice maker didn't work & there was only 1 ice tray provided. Counter tops very outdated. The ceiling fan in the bedroom had only 2 speeds - high & off. Having said all that, we enjoyed our stay. We will return again next yr but wouldn't necessarily select this unit again.

Great place to stay in Ft Walton
We loved staying at El Matador ! Our condo was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view ! We had two grandchildren with us and they loved the pool ! Would definitely recommend this to others and this will be our go to for vacation in Ft Walton from now on

Everything was awesome; however, the bed (mattress) itself, was not very comfortable at all. It felt like a bed that is over 8 years old. Everything else is provided for and the view was wonderful. Update by Manager: Mattress has been replaced

Easy to work with, some problems, very outdated interior
Loved the place and loved the price.
We did receive a call while on our way to Destin saying the original room we booked was no longer available, but they were able to accommodate us and gave us a 20% discount so everything worked out. These things happen and they handled it well.
The room was super outdated - forest green carpet and super 80s decor. This didn't bother my family at all, we only cared about the ocean! But, since everything was old the carpet did feel pretty dirty and the bed wasn't the most comfortable.
check in and check out was super easy. We loved having a kitchen and lots of space - Wifi & TV was nice when the sun got the best of us.
Location is awesome! Really great views and direct access to the beach was a dream. We'd definitely stay there again.

464 was beyond my expectations. Having stayed in Building 6 in 2017...this was much roomier! Only one little bit of frustration - the elevators are super slow and I have no idea how they decide which floor or which direction they are going...seemed totally random.
P.S. When unpacking, I noticed that a white hand towel from the unit was thrown in my laundry basket. I will mail that back. Sorry :)

Had a great experience at #464! It was my little families first time at the beach together and it was great! Room was a little outdated but super clean and spacious! Comfortable beds and recliner. Beautiful views of the ocean. Looking forward to staying here again!

Great location and all the amenities, without the crowds
This was our second stay in this particular unit. We love the top floor location and the views of the Gulf. The unit is spacious and the bed is comfortable, not something you find very often. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, everything we needed. It is not newly remodeled, but like I said, it has everything you need. We didn't even turn on the TV the entire week!

Loved our stay!
We love the El Matador. It is a hidden treasure. I love being at the very end of Santa Rosa Blvd. Dan and Carol Cartledge have beautiful units. We have stayed in both their 1 BR and 2BR. Planning on coming back next summer if not before! Thank you front desk staff for also being so nice and accommodating.

Loved it!
This condo was perfect, a large one bedroom. The recliner in the living room was super comfortable and you could see the ocean while sitting in it. The views were amazing! The only complaint was that the coffee pot was as cheap as can be and made pretty bad coffee, even though we brought the good stuff.

Lovely condo! We had a great time and can't wait to return! A few more towels in the condo would be nice....I don't really like to do laundry on my vacation especially when there is no washer and dryer in the condo!
