Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Unit 447 was perfect for our family! It was spacious and clean. The unit had pots, pans, glassware and lots of utensils. The masterbed was uncomfortable. But the view from the balcony was perfect!

Grounds and staff are wonderful! Other than very outdated condo (no w/d in unit, kitchen very dated & personally I do not like carpet, the water pressure was TERRIBLE. Washing and rinsing hair practically impossible. Hope that can be fixed so that I feel comfortable recommending to friends and me returning.

Beautiful and Peaceful!
El Matador is lovely and was so peaceful in November. The staff was very helpful and polite. We loved our stay! This unit was clean and nice space, but could use some updating- especially the kitchen. However it was very well stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. Very nice quality cookware and knives. The view from the balcony was amazing.

Location and accommodations
The condo location is stellar for access to the pool and beach. The views from the patio door and front door are breathtaking. We enjoyed our time there and listening to the surf 24/7. The condo interior is clean and pleasant but could use some updating for aesthetics and safety reasons: * the stove coil burners are crooked and difficult to cook with. * the fridge makes some strange noises and frequently made a loud cranking noise - waking us up at night * the carpet needs to be replaced - transition metal teeth are exposed and dangerous * the shower glass door hardware needs attention - seemed precarious when closing * the water pressure seems very low but perhaps this is common to the building * the master bedroom mattress is tolerable but not great * the twin bed mattresses are not suitable for anyone over the age of 10 - awful * we could hear bathroom plumbing noises from the condo above us * the dresser in the spare bedroom is delaminating and drawers don't work properly

Always a great experience!
I have been staying at the El Matador since 1991 whenever I come to Florida - it's the only place I will consider in Ft Walton Beach. The units, the staff, security, and grounds are always top notch. Highly recommend.

Bedroom fan & a/c vents were in need of cleaning. Several lamps needed repairs. Handicap bars could be improved! Toilet really to low for handicap person/s. Overall was very nice. This was our first experience renting a “unit” rather than a hotel/motel room. We would do it again! Very cost and more comfortable.

We loved El Matador. The amenities and privacy were amazing. The beachfront view was beautiful and never over crowded. The bed in our master bedroom would be my only complaint. It was hard as a rock and my husband even slept on the couch one night due to this. When you spend that kind of money, you expect a decent bed. Otherwise, 5 stars all the way! We had a wonderful time.

My daughter and her boyfriend were a couple of hours ahead of us to arrive. She called and asked if she could go and see if they could get our room. I told her to go ahead even though it was over an hour before check in. She called me back a little while later to tell me how super nice everyone was - office staff and security!! She went on and on about your staff Whe. My husband and I arrived, our first encounter was with the security guard - precious lady- I just wish I could remember her name. Then on to the office and there again was met with the nicest ladies. I saw what my daughter was talking about. But, everyone we met who worked there were so friendly. It was my husbands first time staying there and only my second. He was very impressed with everything- especially easy beach access, the island beyond your complex. Our only complaint would have been the water wasn't the best while we were there with the seaweed and slugs. But that is totally out of your control. We loved it and so plan to come back!!! Thanks

Same great view/location
I used to come to El Matador every year but haven't been since 1998. Everything is as I remembered, but the unit we stayed in needs some updates (stained carpet, frayed bedspread). The main issue is that the shower head is very loose and hard to work, as is the faucet in the master bath sink. The kitchen is very well-stocked (with the exception of a sharp knife), but some back-up batteries and light bulbs would've been nice. The main television remote batteries are just about dead. Overall, though, we were as pleased as ever.

The unit itself could have some updates done when it comes to appliances and all. However, I have absolutely no complaints in regards to the staff and check in/check out process. Everyone was very helpful! Love the accommodations that are available for renters (gym, hot tub etc)
Also the locations was pricelss! Could not have asked for a better view!
We will definitely be back again!

Nice condo, good location. We enjoyed the beach and had fun visiting the restaurants in the area. Highly recommend the Air Armament Museum at Elgin AFB, as well as Stewby's Seafood Shanty!

El Matador again!
This was our 4th vacation at El Matador and the 2nd stay in #447. We love this unit. Yes, some of the furnishings are a bit dated but don't let that stop you from booking this exceptional unit. Very clean and well appointed, this unit has amazing views of the pool and beach! However, the only thing I wish they would change is the height of the chairs on the balcony. As mentioned in another post they need to be bar height for optional viewing!

Loved the view!
Very nice and clean. Close to pool and beach. Wish it had taller chairs, like pub chairs on balcony to enhance the view. Everything you could possibly need in kitchen. Will definitely rent again. Had a wonderful time and loved it there.
