The unit was completely renovated in November 2021 to include all new furniture, flooring and paint. The open style kitchen has granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. Unit has great views from both the living room and the master bedroom. Master bedroom has a king size bed and the guest room has 1 queen size bed. Balcony has a great view of the pool and the Gulf of Mexico. Unit also has a sofa sleeper that will allow 6 people to accommodate this unit. This unit will be available January 2022 therefore no reviews have been issued since the renovation.
El Matador Condominiums are located next to 17 miles of uninhabited beach. To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Wonderful Stay
Our condo was beautiful and very comfortable. The facilities and amenities were very nice including the sauna, hot tub, tennis courts and basketball court. We will definitely be back.

The room was immaculate and had everything we needed for our stay and then some. I'd definitely stay here again. The location was perfect and peaceful this time of year. Seeing the sunrise and sunset on the beach each day was icing on the cake. We'll be back!

Room 347 is a very nice room. Beautiful kitchen. Both bedrooms had comfortable beds. My only complaint with 347 was the pullout couch bed. The mattress was pure springs and very uncomfortable for my son to sleep on. I called the management company and they brought up a king size mattress topper which helped. This was our second time at El Matador, once in building 4 and this year in building 3. We have loved our stay and will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay there. It was a perfect location. The grounds and pool areas were well kept. Our condo was nice though it could use some updates and new blinds. Response: Thank you for reviewing your stay. The blinds have been replaced in the unit.

This unit was awesome! We had a great view of the pool and beach, the unit was nice and very clean. This vacation exceeded my expectations. I love the area, it was nice and quiet; we were able to cook and grill, the kids really enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave. The grounds and beach are well kept. The guests and residents were really friendly, we had an awesome time and will be returning next year! I have already recommended El Matador to friends and family. We were very satisfied.

Great Stay
We had a great two weeks at El Matador! Nice facilities, would like to have had a better updated room, in room laundry, and an outdoor hot tub. Other than that, for an older facility it's well maintained and clean. Friendly staff and active security on patrol. We'll be back!

The only thing we have to suggest is to put up a different kind of window dressings. The vertical plastic slates kept falling off their holders and privacy was an issue especially in the bedroom. This was our first time here and will return, Condo was great!

Will be coming back
This was a last minute trip, so things were very booked. Would not have chosen this place otherwise. Boy am I glad it worked out like it did!! Very nice, clean and comfortable. Love the homey feel it has. Very quiet and relaxing. Met several church youth groups here. The only negative I can think about is that this is an older place. The kitchen had been completely redone and was gorgeous. However the bathrooms needed some love. It's not enough to keep me from coming back. I think this will always be our go to place from now on

Beautiful location
Location and view excellent. Very clean. Elevators had a few problems and we had to do the stairs. I'm 84 so it was a little difficult. The twin bed room did not have enough lighting. No lamp to read by,the bulb wattage low and the string pull in the closet was barely reachable. We had a wonderful time by the heated pool because of the temperature and wind issues.

Best Value in the area!
We have made El Matador our go-to vacation accommodations for a couple years now and with great experiences each time. We have stayed in Pensacola Beach, and Destin but when we found Fort Walton's El Matador, we found the safe, serene, and comfortable experience everyone hopes for on a family vacation with no fret over large crowds or safety as we venture around the property or surrounding neighborhood.

El Matador 347 Review
El Matador has always been a great vacation getaway for our family! Unit 347 was awesome, the only suggestion I would make is that the blinds need to be replaced. The only suggestion I have for El Matador Complex is perhaps changing the grassy areas at the main pool to concrete to accommodate more tables. I have stayed at El Matador several times over the years and I have never left disappointed.

Every thing about our stay was great. We stayed in Unit 347. We enjoyed our unit. Only two suggestions: 1- Blinds to balcony would not close. 2 Kitchen sink - the hot water and cold water were reversed.

This is the second time I have rented this particular unit, we absolutely love it. The nice updated open kitchen, the bathrooms are nice and the furniture is very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this unit and we went with six other families, I liked ours the best!

Great Vacation Spot
The El Matador is located at the far end of Okalosa island. This allows for a lot of privacy as the next few miles west are empty beaches. The property itself is older, but is very well maintained. The pools and beach access are fantastic.

Had great stay in our unit #347. The social activity was an added bonus that many guests appear not to be
Aware of. We were not our first year. Thought it was directed at owners only.
It is something that few other properties offer and should be directed to guests
better. Maybe noted in the "check-in" packet.

Great Vacation
We had a great vacation this year. This is our third vacation at El Matador and the best one yet. Condo 347 has been very nicely updated with a new master bathroom,an open kitchen with all new appliances/cabinets/countertops. I recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay at El Matador for a nice, relaxing vacation. Thank you to the owners for another wonderful vacation.
