To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Enjoyed the stay
The condo's location is great. It's got a beautiful view of the pool, beach and water. However, the condo itself is a little tired. It needs a little minor maintenance--nothing big. The decor is a little dated and could use a refresh, especially where some of the wallpaper is beginning to peel off. But overall, the bed is comfy. It is well stocked. The atmosphere is relaxing and I loved the balcony.

Beautiful Interior & Beautiful Beach Views
We have been coming to the El Matador for years, staying in different units each time. We LOVED this unit and will book here in the future. Fantastic views of the ocean and very close proximity to the pool. The interior was beautifully decorated with a funky beachy theme. Comfortable bed. Great overall with no complaints!

Review of Unit 345 El Matador
This was my 5th time to stay at El Matador during my vacation to Ft Walton Beach. I love El Matador! Unit 345 was great except for 2 things! Number 1 the bathtub would stop up and water would take a long time to drain out after taking a shower! & number 2 the sliding glass door is very hard to open! Other than that our vacation was great and I absolutely love the property! It stays clean & beautiful! We will continue to stay at El Matador! Manager's Response - Thank you for taking the time to review your stay and letting us know about the issues you had with the unit. Awesome Memorial Day Weekend
We rented this condo for Memorial Day weekend, trying to stay away from the Destin and PCB crowds. The view from the apartment is amazing, the apartment is super cozy and cute, it is not super modern as you can tell from the photos but it is perfect for an awesome beach vacation. When you go out to the beach you can either rent beach gear in front of the condo or walk a few minutes or more to get your own private spot in the beach. This weekend was exactly what we needed after the last months being quarantined at home. We will definitely be back!

The room was very nice only complain we would have is the sliding glass door that goes to the balcony was hard to open felt like the track or either the bottom of sliding door was worn. Other than that it was great. We will probably be coming back great view from balcony.

Beautiful, well laid out condo. Loved the window in the bedroom. Nice, big balcony and great view of the beach and pool. Had everything provided that we needed. Clean, comfortable bed and loved the large TVs in the living room and bedroom! Maintenance and cleaning staff very responsive and courteous. Very nice complex.

Loved our condo! We talked about how clean it was & well stocked. Also the grounds are so well maintained and taken care of! Location from the busy beach was also great. We regret not booking for our week trip but there is always next year!
One thing to mentioned is the lock on door it was hard to turn key & get out of lock also one time the knob. Am completely off. We pushed it back one it never happen again. Also the door looked to have been kicked in at some time. You may need to check that.

Great stay, room needs a few things
Good: Views are spectacular More kitchen amenities than most Well decorated Cozy feel Balcony setup/ furniture Plenty of blankets, towels, pillows,etc. Large and deep tub Great bedroom views Could do better: Front door cracked Front door handle needs work, lock jams Cannot lock deadbolt from outside Couch and loveseat are hard as a rock Can feel springs poking you through the bed, no one had a good night sleep Shower curtain rod is rusted Don’t get me wrong, this is a great stay. My wife and I have stayed in this room 3 times now over the years. We remember it better in the past. The front door handle and frame are in rough shape. Looks like the framing on the latch is rotting and there was a large crack in the middle of the door where the locks are. Made me nervous about leaving valuables in the room. We did let staff know so this will likely be fixed soon. Other than that, the bed mattress could be replaced. Maybe we are getting old and sensitive. Please remember, we have stayed in this room more than once for good reason. Looking for a beach themed retreat with an amazing view? This is it. Close to the pool and beach and a view that kept me on the balcony with a cup of coffee more than inside. If there was a hammock out there , I would have slept out there all night. We love this room and look forward to returning, perhaps to a more cozy mattress, couch, and new door. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Matador. The security personnel were always helpful and present at the guard shack so I felt very safe. There were no loud tenants around us which really helped in getting my 1 year old to sleep at night. The whole compound was very clean. There were several people we saw with pets (assuming they were owners) and they were all SUPER nice. The heated pool was very nice to have due to the cooler weather during our stay. The boardwalk was so close to the beach and was kept very clean. Would love to stay here in the future.

Peaceful blues
I loved the decor, the blues were very peaceful and calming. I also loved the artwork displayed. The views from the balcony were beautiful. This is the 3rd time we have stayed at el Matador, and this condo is by far, my favorite so far. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay as usual. Hurricane HARVEY tried to ruin it, beaches were closed a couple days. We still had fun and relaxed. The unit we stayed in was beautiful and had a super comfy bed. Awesome beach view from bedroom and balcony. It was our 3rd visit to El Matador. Quiet and secluded away from all the crowds. Will definitely return again. Would be nice if hot tub had better coed hours. Thank y'all so much for the experience, and for making El Matador our home away from home. Brian Fort Worth, Texas.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! This room is beautiful and the view is amazing. The staff is very friendly and we loved the fact that there is a guard on duty. We felt at home and safe here, which is very important because we will be bringing our baby boy with us for our next visit! The whole area is great, the beach is clean, the water is crystal clear, there is so much to do, and see, and EAT! We saw dolphins almost every day, which was my favorite part. Needless to say, we will be coming back to El Matador for years to come and we will be bringing lots of friends and family with us!

We loved our stay at Ft. Walton, and Condo Unit 345 was like a Home Away From Home :-)
The quality of the Condo was perfection! We truly enjoyed our stay, and wished it was longer. The Condo was decorated just as my Wife would have done it herself (which made her a Happy Vacationer). We will be going back to El Matador again, and will insist on Condo 345.

Everything was lovely! The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was clean and the hotel grounds were immaculate. No crowded beaches and the guests that were there were also friendly and family oriented. No rowdiness seen, just people having fun and enjoying this beautiful spot in paradise! Only complaint was the "free" photographer stood us up at 6:30 in am on the beach. Never called to cancel or apologize! I rescheduled with Hamilton Images in Pensacola and it well worth paying for!
My husband and I can't wait to come back next year and definitely stay same place. We were in 345 with a great view of ocean and great beachy decor! Loved it!

We Loved Our Visit
We fell in love with unit 345. We have stayed at El Matador 3 or 4 times in the past with other family members but this was by far our favorite home away from home. The peaceful blue setting was so awesome. My daughter and I came for her senior spring break last week for a girls get away and we couldn't have been happier. She had friends to come visit one day and they too just raved and raved about our place. We will book this unit again soon.

Love 345!
We've stayed at El Matador for 12 years and we love it! We've stayed in other rooms but usually that's if 345 isn't available. I LOVE the décor! It would be how I would decorate if I had a beach condo. The only issue was and has been for a few years is the sliding screen door is broke. It doesn't open or close easily. Other than that everything was nice and clean! We hope to be back in September!
