To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Always a good stay at ElMatador
I’ve been coming to El Matador for 30+ years and this trip was excellent as always. The unit was clean and well stocked. The only issue I found was all remotes except in front bedroom were dead and one remote had corroded batteries. It wasn’t a big deal for me since I didn’t watch tv but you probably need to be aware of the issue because it would probably be a concern for some folks. Can’t wait until my next trip to El Mat.

We stayed in room 337 at the Matador. They provided lots of kitchenware, blender, toaster,pots and pans, silverware,cups,plates,knives, pretty much everything you need for the kitchen. It had two hairdryers and a few games to play. The furniture was all in very great shape! It was decorated very cute! And the sliding doors were very new and slid open very easily! I love that there was lots of storage space where I could unpack my bags for the week. It was kept VERY clean and I liked that it had a key code to the door where I didn't have to keep up with a key. My sisters family stayed in the room next door and it was not as near as nice as this room!! I am saving this room number so that we can come back and stay!! The only thing I did not like is that the bed was super firm. It needs a mattress topper or something. Thank you for providing such a pleasant place for our stay!!

Beautiful beach
Our stay at El Matador was nice. It has an exceptional stretch of white sand beach area, we spent every day on the beach. The pool is very crowded from morning to night, we didn’t use that or the hot tub spa which is in the main bldg area, kind of weird location. Condo 337 had everything we needed with pretty decor and a spacious & comfortable layout. We rented the Lounge banquet room and it was perfect. The staff is kind and helpful. It is nearby plenty of restaurants, the Boardwalk and Destin for outings. I would highly recommend a stay at El Matador, definitely for the beach.

Me and my family really enjoy El Matador. Every year we take a family vacation to Ft Walton this was my second year at El Matador and my other families 3rd or 4th year. The customer service has been some of the best I have ever experienced. The staff is very easy to deal with . El Matador will be me and my families choice . We usually rent 4 units and the rest of my family has had the same experience dealing with the staff. Nothing but professionalism, understanding, and caring. Thanks again for making our family vacation at Ft Walton a success.

The room that we stayed in was amazing. It had everything that we needed. The room was clean just what we were looking for. The pools and beaches were beautiful. Thanks for the great service especially security he was amazing.

Wonderful
The condo was wonderful. Really clean, nicely furnished and updated kitchen. Property is a little more secluded due to Eglin AFB property. Great amenities, 2 pools, sauna, library, meeting area. Beaches were clean and the views were spectacular. Would have liked a washer and dryer in the unit but not a deal breaker. Over all had a great time and will be back for future stays.

We had the best vacation. Our condo could not have been better. We enjoyed the beach access , the beach chair rentals , the pool, everything was wonderful. The staff were gracious and helpful. The other guests were polite and friendly....We want to come back.

Beautiful unit
This unit was excellent. Everything worked well. It was clean and both bathrooms were clean, mildew free, and good shape. The beds were good and the furniture was comfortable. The kitchen was very good and everything was in good working order. The tile floors were excellent. The balcony was very nice with adequate, updated seating. The balcony door was easily operated. This is a very pleasing unit and in excellent condition.

I loved that they had security at the gate and that the condo was at the end of the beach which made it less crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Thanks

Wonderful property.
Everything was clean and nicely decorated. My wife really enjoyed the remodeled kitchen. The tiled main floor was much better than having carpet considering the sand and water on our feet from outside. My only complaint is the sliding door leading to the balcony from the living room. It stuck horribly all the time and didn't open all the way. At least my arms got a workout opening and closing the door. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return.

Enjoyed the stay. The only complaint we had concerning our unit was the sliding doors leading to the balcony were almost impossible to slide. The one in the master bedroom would not open at all.

Perfect for Our Needs
We stayed in Unit 337 which is one of the two buildings closest to the beach. It had two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and the second bedroom had twins. This was perfect for my wife and I and our two teenage boys. We had a great week in spite of the not so great weather.
