To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Great location and well maintained
This was our second year of wintering at El Matador. The staff are very friendly and they go out of their way to help with any issues that might arise. The grounds are well maintained and the public areas are cleaned daily. Only reason I didn’t give excellent rating was our unit 335 really needs some new furniture. The couch and chairs are very worn out. The bed is not comfortable at all, no support. But the location of the unit is fantastic with great view of the Gulf and pool area. We plan on being back next winter!

A wonderful stay
We’ve been coming to El Mat for 30+ years and for the most part stay in building 3. This is the first time staying in 335 but won’t be the last. Although the bedroom furniture was “vintage” the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has been updated and had plenty of dishes and glasses. I don’t cook too much while on vacation so the limited amount of pots and pans wasn’t a problem.

Loved the condo and the view. The mattress was horrible as in i think the bed frame is broken. My husband woke up in the night and couldn’t see me, that’s how far I sank down, but I let the management know to notify the owner, so hopefully that will be replaced. The pool was too cool to swim in but the other pool was heated. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed our week.

Unit 335 El Matador Review
We enjoyed our stay in unit 335 at El Matador Condos. The unit was clean and stocked with supplies as promised. The queen bed and two pullout couches could very easily sleep 6 adults. The unit had a lovely view of the larger pool and the gulf could be seen and heard by simply stepping out onto the balcony. The building overall seemed very clean and secure, though the serviceable elevators are showing some wear. I think unit 335's couches, though, should be replaced with new. The couch cushions did not offer the sitting support we enjoy. Also, the mattress in the bedroom MUST be replaced. There are dents where bodies lay. We got backaches and my husband actually left the bed to sleep on the only slightly better couches. I also think for the money, there are a few simple supplies that ought to be provided. Two rolls of toilet paper is insufficient for a week's stay. Maybe provide one roll for every two days for two people. Also, consider providing one roll of paper towel, a small bottle of dishwashing liquid, and a box of tissue. Let people know what type of coffee pot is available. Travelers will appreciate knowing if they should bring filters or Kurig cups. These basic supplies are often offered in other rentable locations.

Every year we come from Idaho to spend a week at El Matador Condos. The El Matador Management Company Staff is always welcoming and happy to see us. It has become a tradition, and the staff at El Matador Management Company make us feel like we've come home each stay. The condo was great. I loved the view and location. The mattress in the bedroom was super soft on one side and firm on the other which was strange and made sleeping challenging at times. That was the only thing that I would suggest changing.

The room was very nice with a great view overlooking the pool and the ocean. The only things that I would say can use some improving with would be, there is no ceiling fans so a nice stand up fan on the living room and bedroom would be nice. My family and I have a difficult time breathing at night without fans and especially with the Florida heat, it would have been nice, because the AC did not go lower than 68. And the Fridge never cooled off so it would not keep the food or drinks cold at all, but the freezer worked wonderfully. Besides those two things the trip and the room were amazing! I could not ask for a better view from the balcony!!

We loved your condo and the updated kitchen and bath. We only would liked to have had a king size bed and a TV in the master bed room. The furniture on the patio could use some love also, but the larger bed and tv would make this unit excellence plus. Thanks for allowing us to use your home for that week. If we come back again next year we will request your unit again if it has a larger bed. We are two old folks and need a little more room then when we were young.

Great Location at Okaloosa Island
El Matador is situated close to everything you need and Unit 335 provides easy access to beachfront. This unit has been updated and has great square footage for a 1 bedroom. It had everything to meet our needs for the week. Easy access to the coin laundry (next door literally). The queen mattress needs to be replaced as it felt worn out, an upgrade to a King with good support would be beneficial to future guests. However, we are still satisfied with this Unit. Very nice experience
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the El Matador in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They had all the silverware, pots, pans, dishes, etc. that we needed for the entire week. The room we rented out, 335, was very spacious and super tidy when we arrived. The only thing I wish they would've provided us with were more trash bags for their trash cans, but we got them for $3 at the grocery store, so it wasn't a huge deal. Upgrades will probably be needed soon, as I saw a few cracks and worn out places throughout the unit, but for the price and the location, it was exceptionally wonderful! I would definitely stay there again!

Fantastic updated unit
The pictures don't do this unit justice. The updates and upgrades are fantastic! We were so excited to find the granite counters, stainless steel appliances and updated bathroom. It is head and shoulders above pretty much all the condos we have rented at El Matador. The one negative was the bed. It's a bit old lumpy but not the worst we've had in a condo. We plan to rent this unit again!

Great area to spend winter months. El Matador has helpful staff and many relaxing features to be enjoyed by all guests. All areas and grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful views. Many fun activities planned with all invited to join in. If a problem occurs the staff quickly addresses the problem and handles it with professional manners. Guests do have to take care choosing condos over the internet as some photos and descriptions do not actually describe conditions of each condo accurately. Upkeep and updates of insides of each condo is by the private owners, so some maybe dated. Next year we will be returning for our fourth winter if that tells you something.
