To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

This wasn’t our first stay in this condo, and won’t be our last. The condo is exactly as described and the pictures are accurate. It’s clean and has been updated and renovated beautifully, and the view is amazing. The complex is quiet and easy to navigate, the grounds are well maintained, and parking is safe. Great restaurants are close, and Destin and Navarre are both short drives away. 334 is by far our favorite condo for a beach vacation!

A beautiful place to stay.....
We haven't been to the beach in several years, so looked at several places and decided to stay at El Matador. Why? We knew where it was, had heard from others who had stayed there, and they raved about it. I can see why now...... we stayed in building 3 on the 3rd floor. We had a beautiful view of the Gulf and the pool. The room was well appointed, comfortable and had all of the things to make our stay a memorable one. Parking was plentiful, the grounds were well kept and the pool was wonderful. Beach access was easy as well. There were grills on the property, so you could grill outdoors if you wanted to. A very quiet community and everything was very well kept. The Staff was very helpful too. Check in was quick and easy. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind, look no further! We'll be back.......

We stayed in this unit 08/19/-08/26/2023. First time staying in this unit. I could not find anything wrong with this unit at all. Loved having the storage room for empty luggage, coolers and empty crates. The next time we need 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom with a very extra nice shower, it will be this unit. The views of the ocean was great. Very nice balcony with lots of nice seating and 2 tables.

Wonderful week in the sand
We so enjoyed our week at El Matador. We had an ocean front room and enjoyed both the mornings and nights watching the waves, wildlife and families enjoying the emerald waters. We had never vacationed in the panhandle and usually drove down to the Ft Meyers/Naples area. That will change after this vacation. Booking, the condo and surrounding area exceeded our expectations. We will be back !

Our stay was great! The condo was very nice. We do have a suggestion as the couch is very worn and hard to sit on. The accordion closet door in bedroom came off track on day one. We tried to put back on but first time to open again came back off. We love El Matedor and will continue to stay each year.

I have always loved El Matador. I've been there numerous times as a guest to a friend but this was the first time I got to rent a condo and I must say I was not disappointed. The room was clean and recently has been updated. It was extremely comfortable and the balcony furniture was excellent. I hope I will get to rent this again one day. Such a wonderful condo.

The condo and the views were amazing ! The bed seemed new and hard . It could use a pillow topper mattresses pad to keep the springs from poking you while you sleep. This condo was very clean. It had new furniture and new patio furniture. The condo was right next to the washer and dryer. We had a great vacation here!

So Relaxing!!
We loved staying in 334!! The view of the beach was the BEST!! Very easy access to the beach and the pool! The gate house staff and office staff were very friendly! We arrived early and they went ahead and got our unit ready. The mattress on the bed was comfortable and you can see the beach from the bedroom window. We will be happy to stay there again!!

Beautiful Location and Friendly Staff
The El Matador is a very well-maintained condo complex right on the Gulf of Mexico. Since Eglin AFB is right next to the complex with a restricted beach, the El Matador's beach is very quiet - and BEAUTIFUL! This was our second stay, and we highly recommend it. The unit was clean and came with all the comforts. Everyone was nice, especially the security guards at the gate. GOOD SHOW, EVERYONE!!

Had a wonderful stay this week at El Matador in unit 334. Very nice and spacious condo. Clean and up to date furnishings. Kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of silverware and appliances. And the A/C was nice and cold. The outside patio had a great view of the gulf and plentry of seating. The entire complex was nice and clean. We will definitely be back!

The property was amazing! The service from the time I reserved the condo to the time we left was great. If I had a couple of issues, it would be allowing people to either leave behind dish soap or cleaning supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper etc. but I also understand it is during COVID. The only other issue is we had several families stay and the difference in condos are a dramatic. Ours had carpet and needed some updating but was still a very nice place to stay. What made up for that was the view from 334! Absolutely amazing view! I have never been to the panhandle and this place made we want to come back and stay in this unit. Great job El Matador!

We left a day early due to Hurricane Sally. One thing we found unusual was that over the weekend there were at least three and possibly four dogs in our building. This was before the storm and in all the years of staying at El Matador I have never seen so many dogs, large dogs and heard so much barking!

Condo was in a great location and beach wasn’t crowded. It was clean and somewhat updated. Only draw back was the toilet leaked the whole time but other than that we have definitely found our new vacation spot when we come back. Very relaxing and in a perfect spot.

The condo was clean and beautifully decorated. It was also very spacious and had everything we needed for a fun week at the beach. The property is well kept as well. If you are looking for a family oriented beach vacation this is the place to stay. It is also quiet and less crowded since it is the last place on the road/beach. The Air Force owns the beach past the El Matador. The after hours check in/check out was quick and easy.

Our time at El Matador and in unit 334 was so wonderful. Everyday we woke up to the most beautiful view and every night we watched the sun go down. The condo had everything we needed and we want to return again and again!

Wonderful place. Booking was very efficient and friendly. I will be back as often as I can. I do wish you had recycling available however. We all have to do our little part. I had about ten glass bottles at the end of my stay that just went to a landfill.

The condo was great. The only issue we had is the water control handle in the tub/shower was very loose and made chosing the water temp a bit difficult. Also, there was no non-stick skillet in the kitchen.

This unit is updated. It is very spacious and the furniture is comfortable and clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The only thing I would have like to have seen is tile through out instead of carpet. I would definitely choose this unit again. The front desk associates and all the guards were extremely friendly and as always the grounds are beautiful.
My only suggestion would be a few more tables at the pool with umbrellas for us older guest who like some shade while at the pool. The tables with umbrellas that are there get taken up fast each day. The ElMatador is a beautiful complex.

This condo had nice furnishings that were clean and comfortable. The bathroom lay out was different than other one bedrooms We have stayed in still very nice but alittle odd the main sink area had no door to shut it off without cutting off access to the bedroom. But for my husband and I we had no issues with that. The condo it self was very spacious And the kitchen had all the things you need for cooking. Balcony furniture very nice. Elmatador overall has beautiful grounds and pools that are very well maintained. The front desk staff, yard crew and guards was also very pleasant and always spoke to you. I do wish the beach pool was also heated for late October guest.

I have stayed at El Matador almost every year for the past 15 years. I have always enjoyed it very much. I love the location. The property is always clean and beautifully landscaped. The staff are always friendly and helpful. This time was no exception. The only criticism I have would be that I stayed in a one bedroom condo this year, and in the particular unit I was in the bathroom was extremely small and had an awkward layout. And, this may seem small, but there were no tall chairs on the balcony. This really affected our ability to be able to enjoy the view of the beach and pool area. I always book a room with that view, and we just weren't able to enjoy it this time because of the chairs! Another issue, that is in no way the fault of El Matador, was the fact that there were no sea shells on the beach this year and the waves were very strong making it difficult to get out in the ocean very far. It seems that the sandbars have changed creating these issues. Otherwise, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels and I am used to the cramped quarters that you usually get. For the price, I don't think anything could compare to the size and furnishings of the room. And the view! We could see the ocean from our living room and bedroom and it was gorgeous. The full size stocked kitchen made family friendly meals easy to prepare as well. Won't find a better price for a comparable vacation!

We thank the owners of this condo for allowing us to use their space. Our needs were well accommodated. The master bedroom and "suite" were cozy and comfortable. Our only comment is that the mattress on the pull-out couch was not terribly comfortable. It worked well for my 2 kids, but adults may find sleeping difficult. Thank you!

The website photos don't do this room and view justice. You truly have to see it in person to appreciate how wonderfully located this unit is. Steps away from the pool and white sands. Truly a vacation to remember!!! The deck seats 4-6 people comfortably. Enjoy a mimosa on the deck then head downstairs for some sun and waves.

Couldn't ask for a more enjoyable experience
We reserved our one-bedroom unit for a week for a family reunion. What a terrific experience. The views from the balcony were enchanting; in the morning, we were not only treated to the spectacular views of the beautiful, emerald ocean and white, powdery beach, but also the occasional dolphin swimming close to shore. The room was clean, convenient and spacious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My family loved our stay at El Matador. Our view from room 334 was amazing. The area in the bathroom that has the shower and toilet is small, but I would rent this condo again. The staff was all very friendly. The beach was wonderful. It was a very nice relaxing time for our family.

This unit is very well decorated and fairly well stocked. The only reservation I would have about returning to this unit is the same as several others have mentioned: the tiny shower/toilet room is really difficult to navigate. You have to climb between the toilet and the shower to close the door, and then again to open it. It would be impossible to anyone who was larger, or not very mobile.

El Matador vacation stay July 12-19, 2014
Overall, the facilities and beach were very good and we had an excellent time. The exercise room was ok, but could use a fitness professional to assess possible improvements. Our condo was very nice: the bed comfortable with plenty of pillows(excellent - need a few more pillow cases, however), the A/C excellent, the kitchen well outfitted, the living room and balcony were excellent. The bathroom was so-so; two sinks would have been nice; the closet was spacious, but the commode and shower room was below average. I have no idea how a big person could even get in the shower.
The atmosphere of the El Matador was excellent, as were the staff, maintenance and security team. We would come back again.
