Always Love El Matador
We ALWAYS stay at El Matador, at least twice a year, and have never stayed in a "Bad" unit. 264 was nice and roomy with a large balcony and a great view. The bed was super comfortable. The living room furniture could use an update but we didn't spend a lot of time in there anyway. Condo was extremely well stocked with cooking supplies, TV worked great and that's something we usually have trouble with. As senior citizens electronics sometimes overwhelm us but this setup was easy. We had an amazing week and cannot wait to come back in October!

Very nice condo
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unit. Updated kitchen although the microwave is very high up if you are short! Aside from several lightbulbs being blown which made it dark especially at night, it had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.

Amazing view!
The ocean view from the balcony is beautiful and perfect! The kitchen is also very nice. I would definitely stay in this condo again. Perfect for a couple or a family of 4 with young kids.

We enjoyed our 2021 beach vacation at the El Matador. Our unit was perfect for us with amazing views. The property Was well maintained and the lawn is beautiful! We also enjoyed the pool and the board walks to the beach are very convenient

Room with great view
We loved our stay at the El Matador! The room had an amazing view of the water and could also see the big pool. It has morning sun on the back balcony but by the afternoon it was shaded to sit out back and eat lunch. The condo was clean with updated appliances. It is the first room off the elevator and can see the bay and gulf out front. It was a great room and we want to visit again!

40th Wedding Anniversary Trip
We had planned on going north to Virginia for our 40th wedding anniversary but due to construction on I-95 in Virginia we changed our mind. We had been to Miramar Beach in December with the family and loved the water so it was a no brainer to go to beautiful water. We were looking for somewhere laid back and a little slower paced, we found it here. We truly enjoyed every minute and planning on a return trip.

The place was fantastic! The only thing that was a little annoying was that the sliding door to the balcony was very difficult up open and close and a ceiling fan would be nice to cool it down a bit. Other than that we enjoyed every minute. There Murphy bed was a nice addition and way more comfortable than a couch. We'll be back!

Wonderful community and a wonderful residence. We neglected to start the dishwasher and apologize. A-. The patio doors were not fully functional which restricted our use of the patio. And, we were aware that the patio had an open closet including a pull wagon to haul beach stuff down to the ocean. Perhaps a note to customers to inform us? Thanks for the great stay!

Wonderful unit for wonderful stay!
I took with trip with my twin boys and the unit was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The unit is in good repair and we were comfortable for our stay. We had a nice view of the beach even though we did not choose the units ON the beach. I did find that the AC had a hard time keeping up and the water pressure was low. However, I think that is something that happens when you stay on the top floor of a complex in the middle of July in Florida.
Overall we loved it and will book again!

Perfect!
My husband and I stayed in unit 264 and loved every bit of it! The bed was nice, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and there were even 2 chairs for the beach! We ended up leaving 2 pool noodles and a cooler that we weren't’t able to travel with so hopefully the next renter can get some use from them. We can’t wait to visit again!!

This unit is absolutely wonderful! It had everything that my family and I needed.It didn't hurt that the decor was everything. I felt like I was home away from home. I definitely would come back and stay here for my vacation needs.

Is There a Rating Above Excellent?
While this wasn't my first time at El Matador, this is my first time with my wife (Shawna) on vacation at El Matador. The unit was far beyond our expectations - it was immaculately clean and comfortable and the view we had was spectacular. I knew the quality would be there but seriously, this was amazing. We met a few of the locals who live in the units and they were incredibly polite to us; so much so, we hung out a few times together on the beach and had a great time establishing new friendships. I'm not sure if AJ works for El Matador directly, but please take note that he took care of everyone promptly and made sure everyone was comfortable all the time on the beach. AJ was fun to talk to, worked hard, and clearly loved his job - I look forward to seeing him again when we come back! Shawna and I will absolutely be coming back and we are already looking forward to it! Thank you so much for everything and for sharing your home with us. See you soon!

Beautiful & comfortable
This unit is beautifully decorated, with a firm but comfortable king size bed. It has a great view of the ocean from the balcony. It is the first room near the elevator, but you do not hear it running. We have stayed in this unit several times. The owners have provided many thoughtful things to make your stay enjoyable, like books, dvds, two TVs, nice dinnerware & flatware, & coffee makers. It's more like a home than a beach condo. El Matador is a very quiet & peaceful place at the end of the road, and there's not much traffic.

Our condo was exceptionally clean and perfect in every way! Very roomy with all new updates! The view was fantastic! No issues the entire stay! Easy check in and check out. Definitely will stay here again and recommend El Matador to anyone vacationing to Fort Walton Beach!

This was the first time for my kids and I to stay in a condo. We loved it. It had everything we needed and even some things to use at the beach. We had a view and a nice little walk to the sand. I will be using this place again when we are able to come back.

This is a wonderful complex! Not overly crowded with two pools, BBQ facilities near the pools, easy and direct beach access and all of the amenities needed in the condo. I loved my vacation !

I rented 264 upon the recommendation of a staff member when I called to inquire about the property. It had been recently renovated and offered a nice view of the ocean from the balcony. The unit was very clean and nicely decorated. It was extremely comfortable and felt like home. We really enjoyed the short walk to the private beach. It was worth the money and we will most likely return in the future. The only way it could have been better for us is if the property had a lounge/bar on site. You certainly don't have to drive far to find one, but having one on site would have been even more convenient! Thank you!

Overall, the unit was adequate for our needs with decent access to beach. The view of the Gulf was okay and though the decor was not to our taste, we got used to it. Some notes, beside the light over the dining table (which the owner knows about), is that the shower fixture could be better (hard to balance hot and cold and the spray was very weak) and the bed could be more comfortable(solid-hard.) Television was challenging to figure out and we ended up not watching it. Did not use the washer and dryer so cannot speak to that.

recommending El Matador
The unit we stayed in, #264, exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, well supplied and attractive. The management staff was helpful and friendly. The buildings were well placed for views of the gulf. We liked being at the end of the street where it was quiet and traffic was minimal. The grounds were well kept and maintained. We would certainly stay again at El Matador and we would request unit #264 if we return to Fort Walton Beach.

I like that there wasn't maid service everyday, so that we can do our own hours. The condo itself was absolutely beautiful with all the upgrades. Very close proximity to the beach. Had a wonderful time!

Quiet, Calm, Comfortable
All went smoothly. Loved the view and convenience to the ocean. Room was clean and well-furnished. Only thing that might make it a better value was if beach service was included or chairs at least made available for guests to carry to beach. Also, we were not quite sure how the sauna/hot tubs were accessible as doors were locked, and it seemed strange there were only certain Co-Ed hours on hot tubs.

Beautiful condo unit
This is the third time we've stayed in this unit, and we really appreciate the thoughtful and beautiful way it is furnished. One of the things we most enjoyed about the unit was eating dinner on the balcony, because of the view of the ocean and condo landscaping. Since the balcony is not facing west, you don't get hot afternoon sun.

Comfort of Unit 264
The location of Unit 264 pleased us well. We were very comfortable there. We enjoyed the sunrises as well as sunsets.
We were disappointed in the lack of warm temperatures but that is beyond human control! Hopefully we can rent that Unit again if we are there in the future.

A great time!
We love the quietness of El Matador and we absolutely loved our condo! There wasn't one thing we were missing and the bed...awesome. The one recommendation we would suggest are keypads on the condo doors. Keeping up with room keys can be challenging at times. We will defiently be back and we hope we can get the same condo. Can't wait until next year!

Gorgeous condo
Wonderful accommodations. This condo on 6th floor has a beautiful view of ocean & El Matador grounds. Excellent service from staff. We love the quiet and relaxing atmosphere-- a real vacation! Great local places to eat (we liked High Tide and Crab Trap). Publix grocery , really nice, is nearby. We've been coming to El Matador since 1980's and have never been disappointed. Always hated to leave!
