Unit is centrally located within the complex close to all the amenities at El Matador. Balcony looks out over the courtyard and also has a Gulf view.

To make your Florida vacation unforgettable, our beach resort offers an array of amenities which includes two pools (one is heated seasonally), tennis/pickle ball and basketball courts, a fitness center, whirlpools, saunas, meeting rooms and more! Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. The resort is accented by surrounding sugar-white sand, the sparkling surf, and is convenient to many unique shopping establishments fine restaurants and a variety of water sports.
Age Requirement: NO reservations will be accepted for singles under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian shall be allowed to supervise no more than 3 individuals under the age of 25. Parent or legal guardian MUST occupy the same room as those they are supervising. Any reservations made under false pretenses will forfeit all prepaid rents and deposits and will be required to vacate the unit.

Unit 224 was very comfortable, clean & partially updated. Supplied with all the necessities of home. The location of the resort & building were perfect, plus the grounds were well maintained. Has an excellent view of the gulf and a very very short walk to the beach & pools. The Would definitely rent this unit again. The rental office reception crew were very helpful!

This was our second visit to El Matador, and we enjoyed our stay from arrival to departure. The staff were professional, responsive, and helpful. Our unit (224) was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and well equipped to meet all our needs. Two pools, hot tubs, sauna, and outdoor grills were conveniently located and easy to use. Beautiful Ft. Walton beach provided beautiful sunrises, sunsets,clean white sand and refreshing blue ocean. Numerous restaurants, and grocery stores and activities are conveniently located to the resort. El Matador exceeded our expectations and we'll definitely return. We highly recommend this resort and unit!

The unit was great! The only thing was the sleeper sofa was not usable due to the thin mattress that was in it. You couldn’t sleep on it without feeling the metal frame in your back. Other than that it was perfect!!!

Early 42nd Wedding Anniversary Trip
Everything was wonderful and in working order. The only complaint was the water pressure and shower head. I have long hair and the water pressure in the shower was always very low. This was our 3rd year coming to El Matador and we enjoy the privacy and the laid back atmosphere. It speaks volumes about a place when you see guests that also has returned for a vacation.

Great getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Matador #224. The unit was very clean and just a short walk to the beach. Ft. Walton / Destin will be a yearly vacation spot for us.

Great unit!!!
Me and my sister really enjoyed staying in this unit and hope to stay again on our next visit. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Had everything we needed. The balcony is spacious and has a perfect view of the gulf. El Matador is always so well maintained and wonderful staff. My goto place for Florida beach vacation! And the water is incredibly beautiful. Till the next time!

224 is Home Away from Home
We loved our time at El Matador! We enjoyed being towards the end of the beach, it seemed much less crowded than other areas. Less beach visitors also made for great sea shell hunting for the kids. Staff are very nice. After hours check-in/out was a breeze. Our room was clean and the A/C worked great! Our room (224) had a spacious balcony and was nicely updated. I had two complaints during my stay- 1.) the bed wasn't very comfortable and 2.) there is no ramp to enter the beach, only stairs (becomes an issue when dragging a toddler and wagon of beach gear). Otherwise, everything was exceptional. Will be visiting again!

Best Vacation EVER
We love everything about the El Matador! This was our 2nd stay and we will be back next year. I think our favorite part is the location, the El Matador is last place on Okaloosa Island so it is way less commercial than staying closer to Destin. To the west are acres of undeveloped beach in its natural state. Very quiet, peaceful and uncrowded. Can't wait to go back in 2022!

Condo was clean, decorated very cute w/out being cheesy. A.C. worked well. Bed was comfortable with good linens.Enjoyed having a ceiling fan on the patio- no problem with internet. All the staff we interacted with at the complex were kind, polite & smiling. The older architecture is classic & unique from a lot of the other places we saw. Oh yeah- the beach was absolutely beautiful!

Great Home away from Home!
Loved our condo unit! Beautiful big balcony comfortable chairs. Our unit had everything we needed and it was all in very good condition. This part of my review is just preference but the bed really needs to be king size and much more comfortable. Other than that we loved the unit and will stay here again!

Perfect Vacation Rental
We stayed in unit 224 Feb/Mar. 2020. We were extremely happy with this condo. It was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and the kitchen was well equipped for an extended stay. The exterior and the grounds are well kept and the office staff are friendly and helpful. A Big Thank-you to everyone and especially to the owners for allowing us to stay in their lovely home. We have already reserved for next year.

My 4th stay here
I return again and again to El Matador because you simply can't beat the views, location and staff. The pricing is some of the most reasonable on the beach. Even the gate guards are friendly. Looking forward to my next trip already.

Only a couple things relating to maintenance and very very obvious.The living room fan is barely hanging and very loose. The left light over the bed is hanging out.Thats it,and we were happy with the extras like the umbrella and beach chairs. Overall we were very happy with the building and location. Great stay!
Our place was home away from home! We had met friends there our place was where we hung out every evening . One of the couples live nearby and didn't want to leave our place because of how cozy and the beach was at our back door. The decor was outdated but clean. We had a full living and dining area. Full working kitchen with everything needed ( including a bottle opener!) . Bedroom was comfortable and a TV located in both living room and bedroom.
The pools were well located from all rooms and plenty of parking. We liked the security guard on the premises and the grounds were well kept.
With the beach outside your rooms, a pool to come back too, dining & shopping only 2 miles away, you can't get any better.
The staff as very friendly as well.

The place was very clan, really liked the curtains because it kept the sun out. It becomes bright in there very early, and with kids we wanted them to sleep as long as possible. We really enjoyed our stay at El Matador... 2 thumbs up!

The room was very pleasant. In very good condition to have as much age on it as it does. We loved that the beach wasn't crowded, I guess because the El Matador is the last condo on the beach. Which we also liked. I will soon be giving a positive rating on Yelp! Also. Thanks again and we will return

Highly recommended
The condo was very clean & inviting. It was nice to come in after a long day of family fun to a place that felt a little like home. Kitchen is stocked with everything needed for making meals although we took full advantage of eating the fresh seafood while there. Everyone I encountered at the facility were extremely nice & family atmosphere was amazing! We will definitely be returning renters on our next vacation.

Was worried at first because of the condition of the common spaces in Building 2 including the paint peeling from the floors, but the room was great, the grounds well kept, and the beach beautiful and uncrowded. Will return. Thanks
