Great experience!
We stayed in 165 for the first time and it was great! Very clean and roomy for a condo room. Plenty of space for 4 people and belongings. One thing we will be bringing next year, is dish soap, multi purpose cleaner etc. That’s on us for forgetting. Overall great experience and we will be back!!

Wonderful stay — except the water pressure
The location is ideal, the accommodations very nice with one exception… the shower literally dribbles. We actually thought of hating in the kitchen sink. I understand it is the 6th floor and there isn’t a water tank on to of the building (though that would be one fix), but simply installing a pressure tank would remedy much of the problem.

Really enjoyed the stay
Great views and nice unit with a quick cooking convection oven. The sliding glass door is likely the original and very hard to slide. So that could really use an upgrade. The shower design is a single handle for hot and cold. It seemed that you only increased the pressure while increasing the heat of the water. This was fine for me, but my wife didn’t care for the design as she doesn’t like her water too hot, but enjoys more pressure so she simply couldn’t get it right. Especially for washing her long thick hair. Overall I’m sure we’d both agree to stay in this unit again, but not without at least considering trying a different unit. We have stayed at The El Matador a number of times and it really is a great spot with great staff members.

Unit is somewhat outdated but we were comfortable and it was quiet with a great view of the beach. As other reviewers have mentioned, the biggest drawback is the bathroom - water barely trickles out of the shower-head making it very unpleasant to shower. We will not be staying in this unit again because of this issue.

Wonderful resort on the beach
We loved the El Matador resort! Everyone was very friendly and professional, the communication before we arrived was excellent, and our unit was exactly as described. Lots of places around the resort to gather with our softball team and families, and the location and beach were perfect. Would definitely return!

very nice stay
Everything was great but the water pressure was the worst I have ever experienced. Office said it was because I was on the 6th floor and the buildings were built in the 70's. Not buying that. I don't think they want to upgrade. I have been in plenty of older buildings and higher than the 6th floor and did not have this low of water pressure. Otherwise the condo and El Matador is great!

The whole process of procuring the unit for the week went very smoothly. We loved the condo!! Well-appointed kitchen, LOVELY balcony with wonderful table and chairs. We spent a lot of time on that balcony. Our only complaint was that despite our liking the couch and love seat in the unit, we found the couch in particular to be extremely uncomfortable. Other than that, we loved the condo and plan to rent it again in the future!

The room was large enough for our family of 4 and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. It was very convenient being close to the laundry. Elevator was a little slow, but provide motivation to use the stairs.

Condo was very nice, fully furnished. Even had extra beach chairs, umbrella and beach wagon!! The bed was very comfortable. The view of the water was amazing. We had a great week!! Definitely will stay here again!!

A family oriented atmosphere with a breathtaking scene. The condo was lovely and clean. The only complaint was our condo smelled like dead fish. It knocked you out the first couple of days but eventually disappeared. We will stay again!

This is the second time I have stayed in this unit. My mom booked this unit at the same time she booked hers, but my family stayed in it. This unit is bright, nicely decorated, and I love the counter island in the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. The mattress could stand to be updated, a few more pillows could be in there as well as a few more hooks in the bathroom to hang wet stuff. But otherwise, we were very happy in this unit. Love the tall patio furniture.

This was our 7th stay at El Matador and 6th stay in this unit. We love the place and keep pondering the idea to buy and put a unit on the rental program. Wonderful grounds and unit. Glad the horrid security officer is gone from last year and would love for the elevator in building 1 to be more reliable.

Awesome Condo and Location!
My family and I stayed in this updated and well-appointed condo from 8/2-8/9/14. This condo complex is well located on the island with no other properties to the west, so the feel was secluded with virtually no beach traffic. The complex is clean and well- maintained and so was the unit. The people who live and visit this area are very friendly and the atmosphere is secure. We loved the close proximity to stores and great restaurants. The furnishings in the unit were very comfortable. The El Matador staff made the check-in and out very simple and quick. We would definitely recommend this unit and complex to our friends and family!

My family and i have been staying in room 165 at El Matador for almost 5 consecutive years, and everytime we've stayed there its heaven! The view its perfect! Very nice and clean place. I highly recommend the condo 165 at El Matador! :)
