Resting on over 12 acres, El Matador is beautifully landscaped and meticulously attended featuring lush palm trees and manicured lawn. Pleasant stay.
Nice staff, nice grounds. Love staying here.If we could change anything it would be the Umbrella Contract company. They are aggressive with their setup, take up the entire front row leaving us to pull all of our supplies through the sand to the far end.

Nice anniversary getaway!
This is our first time staying at El Matador and we really enjoyed it. We were able to get into our condo early which was a nice surprise and it gave us a full day to enjoy the beach! Our condo was very roomy and nicely decorated! Very comfortable. The negatives were that there was no Keurig!! and no beach chairs and umbrella as mentioned in the description They do not provide beach service. We will definitely be back for our next weekend getaway.

We have stayed at El Matador many times and this unit was one of our favorites. This was the first time we have brought our adult children and grandchildren with us and this unit was perfect for us. The place was clean and neat and the kids loved it. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils for cooking, much more so than most units, which was awesome for us. We love and recommend El Matador to anyone thinking of a Gulf Coast vacation.

Relaxing Getaway
The condo had a beautiful kitchen that exceeded our expectations. The unit was spacious and was a short walk to both pools and to the beach. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere on the property which made it a very relaxing getaway.

Nice place!
We stayed in 116 for a week. It was our first time in Ft Walton and at the El Matador. Overall, the condo was updated and fresh. It was very airy and open. The kitchen had tons of cabinet space and had just about any utensil you needed for cooking. It’s located on the ground level which worked well when we walked over to the beach and could come right in. My only suggestion would be to have more towels. As a family of 5 we can go through these. Also a tip.. you can ask for quarters at the front gate for your laundry. We learned this only after we saw a sign in an elevator but being on the ground floor there are no signs posted

Fantastic stay in an updated unit
We really enjoyed our stay at this ground floor unit. Although there was no view of the ocean from this particular spot, the updated amenities and the well stocked kitchen made up for that. Very nice looking aesthetically and updated. Being on the ground floor also made it easy to walk through grass to get to beach. Good internet signal made it easy to work remote for a day on the beach. Make sure to bring all of your own soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid, and items to cook - and you’re set up for a great time at the beach.

Amazing Condo
What a great Condo. It's newly remolded and looks like what I would see in a Higher end hotel. I really enjoyed it being on the ground floor so I could let the kids play in the yard or run out to the beach. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we could need, including a pirate wine glass :) I would highly recommend this!

Excellent weekend stay!
El Matador unit 116 and the whole complex in general were very well taken care of. Our condo had everything we needed and then some. The area was perfect for families. We will definitely be back!

Good Stay
Our family of seven enjoyed the stay at condo 116 in general. The condo is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped with new good quality pots, pans and more. The king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. However, the children said the mattresses in the second bedroom are not. While we enjoyed the fully decorations beds with beautiful pillows we don’t have room to put them while we use the bed :) There’s no bathroom door in the master bedroom. It’s noisy when someone uses the bathroom. The patio high chairs and table look great but it’s not comfortable/relaxing to sit on. The walk to the beach is easy …about 3 mins. The pool by the beach is alright. We didn’t use the other heated pool and the spa. The El Matador buildings are older compared to other condos. However, it’s very clean and well kept. The beach/sand is clean and peaceful. There are small green seaweed in the ocean. We had the whole beach for ourselves in the early Mornings since it’s at the end of the street. This is why we decided to stay at El Matador after many hours of research before the trip. The toilet in the master bathroom was wobbly, the wall clocks didn’t work, the wall hooks fall out. We reported theses minor issues and got an offer to fix them the next day. We had to ask for help to connect to the Wifi. Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation time. We plan to come back!
