A rental prepayment of $255.00 and the cost of travel insurance (if purchased) is due at the time of booking.
The balance of the reservation cost is due 14 days prior to arrival.
Yes, all singles must be over the age of 25 to rent a room at El Matador.
Rentals
Each unit number has 3 digits that denote what building it is in, which floor it is on and where it is located on that floor. The first digit of the unit number is the building. The second digit is the floor and the third digit is the location on that floor. While standing at the entrance of each building, the units would start at the left with zero and numbered consecutively thru nine which is the last unit on the right (example: unit 452 would be building 4, fifth floor, and third unit from the left end of the building).

There are two elevators for each building except for building six. Building six has a service elevator that is available if needed.

There is a city shuttle service that picks up directly outside of the El Matador gate and makes several stops throughout Fort Walton Beach.
Buildings 3 & 4 are located closest to the beach.
Beach service is available for an extra fee that would be paid directly to the beach service company. They can be contacted at www.sunsetbeachservice.com. We do have a few units that include beach service with the room.

There are no restaurants or stores located on the property. However, there is a store located within a mile of the property and restaurants located within 2 miles.
Yes, there are several charcoal grills located throughout the property.
No, but there are community washers and dryers on each floor of each building that are coin operated.
The kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware. However, there are no food items such as spices, salt & pepper available in the unit.

Yes! You'll find them in freshwater, so be careful! You don't need to worry about them in the ocean, though.
Tents are allowed to be set up on the beach. All tents, umbrellas and chairs must be removed each night so that the beach can be cleaned.
Honestly, the weather is gorgeous year-round. Summer temperatures hover in the mid to upper 90s, perfect for cooling off in the ocean or our onsite pool. In the winter, it doesn't get cold like it does in the Northeast, but it's still worth bringing a sweater or jacket! Layers are the name of the game.
Yes! Sea turtles nest on the Gulf beaches (including FWB) between April and November. Keep an eye out for them so you don't disturb any hatchlings!

You don't need to worry too much! Fort Walton Beach has a series of safety measures designed to keep guests safe. This is the system:
Green flag: Okay to swim! This means there is low hazard and calm conditions, but swimmers should still, as always, exercise caution.
Yellow flag: Medium hazard. Could be indicative or stronger currents, but still safe to swim.
Red flag: High hazard, likely due to strong rip currents. Take extreme caution if you enter the water!
An additional red flag means the water is closed to the public.
Purple flag: Dangerous marine life in the area, such as jellyfish, stingrays, or sharks.
